A Meditation for Honest Self-Assessment

Sometimes we aren’t able to move forward with positive change because we are not making time and space for honest self-assessment. Try adding this 10-15 minute meditation exercise into your daily routine.

  • Settle into a quiet space with a pen and notebook. Start by closing your eyes and bringing awareness to your heart space and breath. Allow your body and mind to calm.

  • When you are ready, begin asking yourself questions such as “What is my current situation?” or “Where do I really want to be?” or “What is stopping me?”

  • Listen for honest answers or clues. Write down any messages that come to you. These messages may offer deeper insights into your life.

  • From there meditate on “aligned actions” that you can take that will facilitate positive change. Envision how these “aligned actions” play out.

  • Wrap up the meditation by writing down any final insights. Remember to keep your notebook nearby throughout the day if more thoughts pop up. Repeat this exercise daily to strengthen its impact!
