Journal Prompts to Promote Gratitude

By carving out daily time for being present and connected with our inner peace, we are more likely to stay centered and grounded in our busy lives. This tool builds upon the "morning ritual" that has been referenced in other Tools for Wellness. Get out your journal and try these journal prompts after finishing your morning meditation. Notice how you feel more grounded by regularly turning your attention toward gratitude.

  • After completing your morning ritual and connecting with your inner peace, settle in with a pen and paper. When you are ready, gently close your eyes and prepare to reflect.

  • From there, freely write for 1-3 minutes on each of the journal prompts below:

    • "What do I have in my life to be grateful for? Work? Family? Loved ones? A vacation?"

    • "What do I have to give to others? How might I be able to serve my partner, family or greater community?"

    • "How can I be the example of an empowered human being who is living consciously and deliberately?"

  • After completing the journaling exercises, offer the Universe heartfelt words of thanks. The Universe will resonate with the power of your genuine thanks and will respond with more to be grateful for.
